Training Modules / Teacher Guide
“Empathetic Classrooms: A Teacher’s Guide to Supporting Grieving Students”
is a comprehensive guide covering topics such as understanding child grief, developmental
impacts, communication strategies, coping methods, working with families, and cultural dimensions.
The content is based on a literature review and 30+ teacher interviews conducted across 6 countries.
Online Learning Platform
The interactive e-learning platform offers multimedia modules, scenario-based exercises,
quizzes, self-assessment tools, and a Grief Awareness Certification,
allowing teachers to learn at their own pace. The platform also includes an interactive
LiveBook structure summarizing key strategies.
Expert Videos
More than 20 videos and approximately 300 minutes
of content prepared by psychologists, experts, experienced educators, and researchers
focus on grief support strategies, psychological insights, cultural dimensions, and
classroom practices. Videos will be provided with subtitles for accessibility.
Mobile Application
The free EMPACT application, to be developed for Android and iOS, will bring together
training modules, online content, expert videos, additional resources, the LiveBook,
and the certification structure in one place. The application is designed as a sustainable
digital gateway to ensure the dissemination and long-term impact of the project results.
Free, Open, and Reusable
EMPACT resources will be openly shared not only with project partners but also with teachers,
school administrators, counselors, social workers, researchers, and policymakers. The content
is designed to be copied, used, adapted, and disseminated. Through this approach, professionals
working in different educational settings will be able to develop solutions tailored to their
needs and strengthen their existing practices.
In this context, EMPACT is not only a content development process; it also aims to build a
knowledge ecosystem that enhances interaction between learning communities, supports the
sharing of experiences, and creates long-term impact.
